West Michigan Construction Institute is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a nationally recognized curriculum granting students portable credentials.
WMCI provides three different categories of training:
Open to High School juniors and seniors, this year long, introductory program equips students with the skills and knowledge to launch a career in construction.
WMCI provides hands-on training for a diverse variety of skilled trades, including: Carpentry, Concrete, Plumbing, Sprinkler Fitting, Exterior Envelope, HVAC and Drywall.
WMCI offers a range of training options for students who are currently employed in the construction industry and hungry to advance their careers. We provide training options for construction leadership, safety (First Aid/CPR, OSHA compliance and Leadership) construction technology (Bluebeam and Procore), understanding construction documents, and Spanish language skills for the jobsite.
Note that WMCI prepares students for careers in the commercial construction industry and does not provide residential construction classes.
Students do not need to submit transcripts, grades, or proof of high school diploma to enroll in classes at WMCI. A deposit is due upon enrollment to secure the student’s seat in the class.
Yes! We encourage all new students to take a tour of the facility and meet with a staff member before signing up for classes. This will help answer questions about the registration process and what a day in the class looks like for students.
Note: Due to ongoing construction for a facility expansion, WMCI personal tours will be on hold until the Fall '24 semester. However, we will still be providing group and virtual options. For more information please contact: information@wmcinstitute.com
Career coaching is available for students interested in connecting with potential employers. WMCI is an education-focused institution that offers career coaching services but does not guarantee job placement.
We offer daytime and evening courses. The schedule is dependent on the trade.

Tuition is dependent on the trade. Typically, courses are around $2,000 per semester plus additional book and lab fees.
